President's Message
January 2011

Dear Alums, Family and Friends,

Wow, 2010 was an incredible year for the Notre Dame Club of Los Angeles. We served our LA based students and the community by donating over $275,000 in scholarships, feeding the homeless, summer service projects, our Cross-Cultural Leadership Intern Program (C-CLIP), and Urban Plunge. We also served our Alumni base by hosting over 50 fun events including Game Watches, Dodger Day, The Hesburgh Lecture, Business Networking, UND Night, Poker Tournament, Irishfest, The Game is On Luncheon and much more. We hope to keep up the pace in 2011, but we need your help.

Our Club relies on two means of fundraising in order to make the huge donations and organize the incredible events in which you partake. The first is through fundraising events centered on our traditional rivalry with USC. Every other year when the Notre Dame football team visits the Coliseum they bring along a bevy of fundraising opportunities. If you ever purchased a ticket to the game through our Club, you helped us feed the homeless. If you ever attended The Game is On Luncheon, you helped us provide an internship in LA. If you ever had a beer or burger at Irishfest before the game, you helped us provide scholarship funds. These are great events that are a blessing every other year.

In years the football team does not visit beautiful Southern California, we rely solely on our membership dues for funding. While we provide the same great support and fun activities every year, it is significantly more difficult in “away game” years. As such, this year it’s more important than ever that you maintain your membership. Not only will your membership in 2011 ensure you’re ability to participate in next year’s USC ticket application, it will also allow us to be as generous and beneficial this year as we were last.

You’ll soon receive your annual Membership Form in the mail detailing the benefits of each level of membership. Whether you decide to fill it out and mail it back or fill out the PayPal form on our website, please make sure to join. We’ve set a high standard of service and fun in this Club that has been praised by the University, but we can only with your help.

Go Irish!
